Am I a nudist? (pic heavy!)

I have never been a huge fan of nude polishes, but school, and later work,
put restrictions on what manicure we can have. Over time I accumulated a number of "nudes".
Today I prepared a quick review of mine.

Please read: This is my disclaimer for this post - I apologize if the state of my cuticles offends some readers. They are going through a difficult transition at the moment. I have stopped cutting and peeling them off (bad habit I know), so with the help of Sally Hansen, Burt's Bees and a lot of patience, they will make a full recovery. Thank you for understanding.

No particular order. All swatches are without base or top coat and 3 coats of polish, unless noted.

1. OPI Mimosas for Mr. & Mrs.
I got this polish in a recent "blind" swap. Although not usually something I would pick up
for myself, however it turned out quite nice. As with most OPI polishes I have the application
 is nice and smooth.

Lamp Light
Natural Light
2. Bamboo Shoot
One of my very first buys. I don't like Sally Hansen because the brush stem is long and
feels weird to me, but the polish quality is very nice and the finish is very glossy.

Natural Light
Lamp Light

 3. Beige Elegant
This one came to me as a part of a 3-pack I got off ASOS (they have great deals sometimes).
Again I have an issue with the long brush stem. The quality of the polish is great though.
Very sheer, almost invisible.

Natural Light
Lamp Light
4. Icing Sugar
Another one that came in a multi-pack (can you tell I don't fancy nudes?)
I like the brush, application is a bit patchy though.
This one is probably best for layering with glitter.

Natural Light
Lamp Light
5. Pink Ribbon
This polish came free with an issue of InStyle Australia last month or the month before.
If you're into "naked" nails - this is a must! Perfection as you would expect from BL))

Natural Light
Lamp Light
6. Sheer Vanilla
Another bottle that came to me in a "blind" swap. This is a very white sheer polish.
Although it's a Sally Hansen this brush and cap work better for me, but it's a bit patchy.

Natural Light
Lamp Light
 7. Mushroom
I got this one a while back, when I first discovered these $2 beauties.
For a cheap polish, this one is great!
Applies evenly, and I used only two coats (I even use it for stamping sometimes).
There is a bottle of this polish on the blog sale.

Natural Light
Lamp Light
8. Divine
OK, this one is a revelation!!! A treasure hidden within!
NATIO is not a brand that deals exclusively in nail polish, it's mostly make up.
However they have your bilk-standard range of colours like red, pink, burgundy etc.
And then there is this nude. It's not sheer, not at all - it's a one coater!
With shimmer!!! (I know ,lots of exclamation points, but I am excited)

Natural Light
Lamp Light
Indirect Sunlight
Direct Sunlight
10. Yummy Mummy
Another polish that came with an issue of InStyle Australia (October last yer maybe?).
My very first BL! It was love at first stroke)))
There is a slight shimmer in the bottle, but it doesn't stand out on the nail;
unless you know to look for it.

Lamp Light
Natural Light
Indirect Sunlight
This has been fun (but my cuticles are sad).
I was thinking of swatching the whole collection, but sure if that would be of interest to anyone?
In a few weeks I am going to buy my first (and let's hope, last) IKEA Helmer.
That will be a good time to review the stash for possible dupes/comparisons etc.

Hope you've enjoyed this post and thanks for stopping by!

    1. Sometimes it's nice to wear something sheer)) And they work well for a glitter sandwich!

  3. Mushroom stands out to me for some reason. This is a nice post, neutrals don't get as much attention as they should. It's nice to see them side by side because they are different. Your cuticles should heal nicely :)

    1. Mushroom is a very nice one - it's a greige (reminds me of the Sally Hansen Greige Gardens). Thanks - I hope they do get better after a while - it's so hard not to pick right now))

  4. Haha I love how you keep saying you're not the biggest fan of nudes but you have so many! I only have the Butter London one in Pink Ribbon out of the ones you mentioned. It is perfect for a true nude nail, but I find I rarely reach for it... maybe when I am working more :P

    1. Compared to some other categories - this is tiny. The collection numbers are now above 450, and this is only 10 out of the bunch. LOL))

    1. Yes, I agree)) I use them the most - usually for a base or a stamp. The others would be best as a layering with glitter))

  7. Haha! My fav of the bunch is Mushroom! I'm suspecting that it's because I love eating mushrooms! Lol! My brother doesn't get why I'd buy nudes, so blend-dy he says. Hahaha! But sometimes I just like how it blends well with the natural skin tones. Kinda fun! ;)

  9. They all look good, but I'm not a fan of nude polishes and I wear them very rare, I think they looks horrible with my skin tone. But as a base for nail art or spamping they're great. :)
