Instagram Digest Vol. 1

Hi lovelies!
Here is a bit of an update from IG -
a few products that I had reviewed for the BornPrettyStore back in March.

First I received these lovely water decals for review.
You may remember I do love to use them - very simple and easy!
If you'd like a step-by-step tutorial, please have a look at this post I did for Cathy
at More Nail Polish last year.
For the base colour I used one of my favorite neutrals - ORLY Decades of Dysfunction
The water decals very very high quality and easy to use - I loved this delicate pattern!
You can find a selection here.

Next up, I received a special gradient sponge that I used to create this St Patrick's day design:
I used a combination of KIKO greens and topped using a lovely glitter topper by Penelope Luz
(available from Color4Nails)
The sponge has a little handle (like on a stamper), which I found handy,
and it comes with 5 refills - amazing value for money!

Feel free to use my code NTH10 to get a discount on your purchase.

I hope you enjoyed this tiny review and please stay tuned for more to come!

Pictures in time

I have been a bit slack lately with posting, but I do have some of the manis to show you.
This one I did using one of my magnetics - they are heavily pigmented, so work well for stamping!
The base is Essence Where is The Party?
And here is one I did when I was in the mood for blues.
OPI Dating a Royal with CG Blue Bells Ring
This summer was a hot one -
Nikolai in a very comfy twisted position
My first ever ruffian attempt - it grew on me after a couple of days lol
OPI Designer De Better and My Very First Knockwurst
I tried some layering and stamping in one go
OPI Nein! Nein! ...Ok Fine! with CG In The City stamped using Essie No Place Like Chrome
It was too blingy, so I added a matte TC. Much better!
I also got some more indies - like this one - Mardi by Alanna Renee:
And this was my mani for Chinese NY:
I also played around with some new plates from Brazil:
And finally, here is the design I did for Australia Day back in January:
Isn't that bottle shot pretty???
So there you have it - some of the designs from the last 7 weeks.
Thanks for stopping by!

Pick the odd one out!

Recently I was going through my Helmer, making room for some new goodies,
and I noticed some similar polishes - here are some quick comparison swatches.

(All polishes swatched in the order of the bottles, 2 coats unless noted)

Violet:

L-R: ulta3 allure; Maybelline Color Show Amethyst Ablaze; Mode Blue Steel

ulta3 and Maybelline are close, but the opacity is different (ulta3 needs more coats).

ALL the #nailmail!

If you are on Instagram you have probably seen this hashtag floating around - it's one of my favourites.
This means someone has received a package (from an online order, or a blog sale or a swap)
containing some pretty bottles!

Today I thought I should show some of the amazing stuff that I have received,
and acknowledge the wonderful people who have sent it to me.

Showing my 'stache - Orange & Coral

This next part of the series is a surprising one - for me anyway!
I have a whole lot of orange and coral nail polish!!! Why? How? - No idea!

I only ever wear it on my toes, but it' would be a great way to add a pop of colour
to a stamp on my nails (maybe I should try it LOL)

Blogger Collaboration Series: Nails at 2 AM

I am pleased to welcome a very creative lady to the blog today: Christine from Nails At 2 AM.
When I came across some of her designs on Instagram, I think my jaw dropped (literally!)
and I knew I had to invite her to take part in this series.
